The Dorchester-born jockey rides Alysheba to a victory in the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky. He subsequently rides the same horse to victory in the Preakness Stakes and later in the season rides Waquoit to victory in the MassCap at Suffolk Downs.
